Project Brief:

AE was appointed to provide an architectural design concept for the Performance Golf complex on Al Mariah Island, Abu Dhabi, a strategic 45,000 sqm site fronting the Galleria Mall.

The complex includes 64 customized containers with raised ceilings for hitting bays, connected to the mall by footbridge, with a driving range measuring 220 by 150 meters.

Design Concept:

The building combines glass, steel, and modified shipping containers as its main shell material, with a driving range surrounded by rows of trees and mild terrain targets.

Glass skylights and walls draw on natural lighting to minimize lighting requirements, while giving occupants the experience of remaining part of the outside environment throughout the day.
