Project Brief:

Aldar Properties commissioned a revalidation of the previously completed Al Shamkha Sector 20–29 development, appointing AE International Consultancy to review and update the design in line with current requirements.

The scope covers validating, completing, and securing approvals for the design and tender documents, including the streetscape’s soft and hardscape, shading, and furniture design.

​Design Concept:

The landscape strategy favors low water demand planting, with rock and gravel bed layers stabilizing surface treatments and trees providing shade, while low-growing species on medians preserve clear vehicle sightlines.

Date palms mark roundabouts and iconic destination points such as bus stops, with a single tree species selected per avenue and a two-way, three-meter cycle track running the length of each avenue right-of-way.​​​
