Project Brief:

The Zayed Central Library is a landmark cultural destination in Al Ain, UAE, that transforms the existing library into a contemporary hub for learning, culture, and community through adaptive reuse and sensitive new interventions.

The development includes reading and research spaces, special collections, exhibition galleries, performance venues, children’s learning areas, cafes, administration facilities, and landscaped public spaces.

Design Concept:

Our role involved the preparation of the Project Brief and multidisciplinary technical requirements for the proposed new interventions across the existing library building.

The brief establishes the design, engineering, sustainability, heritage, and operational performance criteria to guide the future design and delivery of the project.
