Project Brief:
Dubai South intends to develop the Phase VI of the whole Dubai South development. Client aspires to re-masterplan Phase 6 as a self-sufficient townhouse and villa development centered around attractive place-making elements with limited apartment use.
AE International was commissioned to provide the landscape and irrigation design of the project through M. A. Kharafi & Sons and Italconsult.
Design Concept:
The landscape design intent is to entice its residents and visitors on the beauty of its surroundings and resonate the feeling of relaxation anywhere inside the development.
Seeing and hearing the soothing sound of moving water triggers our brain which induces a flood of neurochemicals that increase blood flow to the brain and heart, which induces relaxation.
The calming effect of water is sought to be reflected on the proposed landscape geometry of the streets by outlining the gravel layers to look like water waves while the sikkas and parks are maintained in curved networks which do the same.
