Project Brief:

ICON SPACES appointed AE International Consultancy to deliver design services for AL AIN MUNICIPALITY (AAM), covering the 140 km Al Ain Cycle Track and its associated public spaces across the Al Ain Region.

The Concept Design stage covers cycling tracks, walkways, street furniture, lighting, shading, and signage and wayfinding systems, alongside wind barriers and soft landscaping, plus road safety audits, stormwater drainage, pedestrian crossings, and coordination of electrical and telecommunication utilities.

Design Concept:

The design approach adopts a strategic, context-sensitive framework that classifies project areas according to their urban density, existing infrastructure, and environmental characteristics.

This methodology ensures each zone receives a customized design solution, enhancing functionality, safety, and overall user experience for pedestrians and cyclists alike.
