Project Brief:

Al Hamra Industrial Zone (AHIZ) is a well-established industrial area northwest of Ras Al Khaimah; as part of its continuous development, AE was assigned to re-calculate the landscape design per the approved masterplan.

The scope also included assisting the irrigation team with detailed calculations, alongside providing the full detailed design of every roundabout across both Zone 1 and Zone 2.

Design Concept:

Beyond xeriscape planting, the roundabout designs draw on geometric patterns and symbols relevant to the UAE and Ras Al Khaimah, using natural materials like gravel, rocks, and planting to reflect the emirate’s authentic, nature-driven character.

One roundabout design draws on the Mashrabiya pattern, a geometric motif especially prominent in UAE culture, reinforcing a sense of place across the zone’s public realm.
