Rehabilitation of Pumping Stations and Network in Al Dhafra Region

Client: Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions PJSC (TAQA Water Solutions)
Employer: KN International

Cost: 110 Million AED
Project Stages: Supervision
Project Status: On-going

Project Brief:

TAQA-WS identified the need to rehabilitate ageing pumping stations and sewer networks in its Al Dhafra Region, awarding the consultancy services for Phase 1, covering Madinat Zayed, Al Marfa and Liwa.

Delivered under Contract O-15015 through CD, PD, DD, TD and IFC stages, the project forms part of TAQA-WS’ master plan strategy to optimise asset performance and extend service life.

Design Concept:

The scope upgrades and rehabilitates sewage pumping stations and gravity sewerage networks, sized against the physical and hydraulic conditions specific to each of the three towns.

In Liwa, the works extend to rehabilitating septic tanks and connecting them to the sewer network, bringing outlying properties onto the reticulated system.
