Project Brief:
Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) required consultancy services for water supply to coastal areas of Al Dhafrah, Western Region, currently served by tankers due to the lack of a distribution network.
ADDC is piping water via interface with TRANSCO’s DN 1000 Shuwaihat-Sila transmission pipeline, serving Nad Al Shiba and Mahmiat Al Soqour, while Raa’s Mushairab, Al Sila Harbour, and Al Wahidah connect individually to ADDC’s network from Mina Pumping Station.
Design Concept:
TRANSCO’s existing 1,000mm x 103.9km transmission pipeline from Shuwaihat to Sila supplies bulk potable water to Ruwais, Hamra camp, ENEC’s workers camp, and Sila, with a further tie-in supplying Yasat Al Sufla.
After reconfirming demand with MOPA, ADDC studied connecting Nad Al Shiba and Mahmiat Al Soqour to this line, minimizing TRANSCO interface and maximizing use of ADDC’s own assets.
