Project Brief:

The project develops concepts for utilizing water from 100 dams across the west and southwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with detailed, tender-ready designs for water utilization infrastructure at a later stage.

An as-is assessment visited all dams, collecting information and water samples to define available water, quality, and demand criteria for future dam water use in agriculture, irrigation, and domestic supply.

Design Concept:

GIZ/Dornier required the detailed design for 28 of the remaining 50 dams identified for infrastructure such as pumping stations, reservoirs, and pipeline systems.

The scope covered design drawings, hydraulic and structural calculations, verification of survey data, mechanical and electrical design, and preparation of bills of quantities.
