AL SHAMKHA SECTOR 20 - 29, ABU DHABI, UAE

Project Brief:


Aldar Properties intends to conduct a revalidation of the previously completed project development of Al Shamkha Sector 20–29.


The project includes the validation, completing, and obtaining the approvals for the design and tender documents which includes streetscape consisting of the design of soft and hardscape, shading and furniture.


Design Concept:


The landscape Design proposes the following:


  • Low water demand species were proposed.
  • Rock and gravel bed layer was proposed as a stabilizing surface treatment.
  • Trees were used for shading strategy.
  • Low growing species were introduced onto medians to maintain safety and clear vision for vehicles.
  • Date palms were proposed on roundabouts only.
  • Single tree specie was selected for each avenue.
  • Iconic date palms highlighting destination points such as roundabouts and bus stops.
  • Two-way cycle track within Avenue ROW, total width 3 meters.
