Project Brief:
The project “Design and Construction Supervision Consultancy Services for the Construction of Public Park in Liwa City” has been initiated by the Al Dhafrah Region Municipality (DRM) to provide the design of Liwa Park project located at Liwa City, Plot No. P1231, Dhafeer Area, Al Dhafrah Region.
The park’s main objective is to provide a camping and picnic area and to connect to the recently constructed big Liwa Signage that is also considered a new tourist spot especially during festive season in Liwa City.
Design Concept:
While visiting the site, it can be noticed that natural sand is the over whelming feature of the site and its surrounding. It is the base inspiration for the creation of the park lines which are similar to those of the sand ripples of the close by dunes therefor the park will blend with its surroundings, thus complimenting and celebrating the desert life as well as preserving the heritage and identity of Liwa city.
The use of the color red is also dominant in the furniture design, a symbol of joy and festivity which are meant to be served in the of the park.
